ATTRACTIONS AROUND US

Szczecinek is a city situated between two lakes: Trzesiecko and Wielimie. Private accommodation u Zofii is located near the park and the lake Trzesiecko by which there is the longest water ski lift in Europe. There is also a bike route around the lake, which is one of several having their beginnings in Szczecinek. Our guests might rest and relax thanks to nearby forest, murmuring streams and numerous lakes around the city.
There are clay and indoor tennis courts nearby the private accommodation „ u ZOFII”. For less active guests Szczecinek offers relaxation in pleasant eating places, the cinema or the aqua park. All this is situated only a few hundred meters from our location.
The private accommodation u ZOFII is situated next to the park and the lake, Numerous attractions wait for you here, such as an excursion by boat and water taxi, cafes, pubs. Those loving sunbathing and swimming will be satisfied with two guarded bathing beaches and those preferring walking-with a waterside boulevard. Sailors will find two small yacht marinas. A new, big marina for about 100 yachts with a gastronomic and hotel base will be build by lake Trzesieckie in a few years time.
The regional museum will provide unforgettable memories of city history. A beautiful panorama of the lake might be admired from Przemysław Tower (Bismarck Tower before World War II)
Those keen on history will be interested in an old German bunker B-Werk which is the part of Pomeranian Wall. A section of Napoleonic soldiers (cemetery) and the original and only one in Pomerania Stone Calvary often visited by tourists are also worth seeing.
In summer peak one of the attractions of Szczecinek is a summer stage where you can listen to concerts given by famous performers or laugh during listening to cabarets. The big attraction is summer festival BCF Blues - Country - Folk.
Our city is also a great place for shopping. The city centre invites to its shops and shopping centres located by the main city promenade, in Bohaterów Warszawy and 9-go maja streets.
Szczecinek is proud of impressive number of green areas, high sun exposure, mild, wet climate and regular, moderate winds. A new beach situated next to water ski lift will be open in summer 2009. It is shown in the below picture.
Szczecinek is an old, dynamically developing tourist spot, which combines commercial, tourist, sports and entertainment functions. The origin of the city was a Kashubian fishing settlement called Kiecz. Szczecinek received city rights in 1310. It is one of not many cities in Poland which have own lake and an easily accessible shoreline. The park part of the shore has a hardened wharf which encourages to walk along the lake.
Efficient transport makes Szczecinek very accessible both in the city area and beyond its borders. Buses and coaches as well as excursion boats (water trams) and trains allow guests to travel fast and efficiently to neighbouring cities and freely benefit from the offer of Borny Sulinów, health resort Połczyn Zdrój and Kołobrzeg, or seaside resorts: Sarbinowo, Mielno and Łazy.
